During the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the leading social networking applications in Sweden displayed diverse trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here’s a closer look at how each of these top apps fared over this period, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Threads saw a significant increase in downloads, peaking at around 94K in the week of August 26. The app consistently maintained a strong presence in terms of weekly active users, which grew from approximately 173K at the beginning of July to nearly 376K by the end of September.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced steady download growth, reaching approximately 24K in late August. Its weekly active users remained robust, fluctuating around 3.5M throughout the quarter.

Telegram Messenger showed a gradual increase in revenue, culminating at about $11K in the last week of September. Downloads also rose steadily, with a peak of nearly 13K in mid-September. Weekly active users remained consistent, hovering around 550K.

Google Meet demonstrated a steady rise in downloads, reaching over 10K by mid-September. Weekly active users showed slight fluctuations, starting at approximately 77K and ending the quarter at about 76K.

Facebook maintained a stable revenue stream, closing the quarter with around $13K. Downloads slightly increased over the quarter, peaking at about 8.7K in early September. Weekly active users saw a gradual decrease from around 2.3M to 2.2M.
